Skin Tares and Bed Sores

Posted in Assisted Living, Elderly Care, Wound Care at 10:44 pm by admin

Skin tares and bed soresĀ go hand in hand with aging. Skin becomes thinner and more paper like as a person ages. If a skin tare is severe I would recommend seeing a Certified Wound Specialist (CWS). A CWS can be a doctor, physical therapist, or a nurse. But not anyone with those titles can be a CWS. A CWS has to go through a vigorous examination by the American Academy of Wound Management and have documented proof that he/she has a minimum of 2-5 years of study in the field of wound care. CWS has the best quality care for bed sores and skin tares. If you or a loved one is suffering from a skin tare or bed sore don’t procrastinate, see a Certified Wound Specialist as soon as possible.

My mom just turned 60 , Her skin is already taring often, and for no reason other than thinning skin. I didnt know this could already be serious at 60 yrs old.And I dont know how to slow down this process.
